Constance Talmadge Picturegoer Postcard No. 17

Collecting Collectables has for sale this original early Picturegoer postcard of Constance Talmadge (1897-1973), this being the low number 17.

Constance Talmadge was a Hollywood actress in the early days of movie making in the States. She first appeared in Buddy’s First Call (1914) and went on to make numerous films including:

Uncle Bill (1914),
Father’s Timepiece (1914),
Bertie’s Stratagem (1915),
The Honeymoon (1917),
A Pair of Silk Stockings (1918)
and many others

Constance Talmadge was such a huge star in Hollywood in the very early days of the movie industry that she is acclaimed as being one of the first to give her hand and foot prints at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre – to make her hand prints unique she decided to walk across them and left 5 foot prints. Since then all stars have left hand and two foot prints. You can see Constance Talmadge’s panel located to the rear of the Grauman Chinese Theatre Box Office. Constance Talmadge also has her Star on the Walk of Fame situated at 6300 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, California, USA.
